You can enter payments either from an invoice or directly in Payments and apply the payment to an open invoice. If you are syncing SME with QuickBooks, payments can be entered either in SME or QuickBooks.

To receive payment for a specific invoice:
1. Go to the invoice for which you are receiving payment.
2. Click the Payments tab.

2. Click New.
3. In the Search window that opens, double click on the customer you are receiving payment for.
4. In the Payment:

  • Details and Settings tab – enter the Payment Amount and select the Method of Payment.
